Before I came to South Gulf Cove...

I was born and raised in Iowa.  I graduated from Saydel High School in Des Moines Iowa in 1973.

After school I got my 1st full-time job at Northwestern Bell Telephone (NWB) Company. NWB has changed their name a few times from Northwestern Bell....to US West...to Quest.

I held several positions at the "phone company".

  • Long-distance operator (cord-board)
  • Teletype Operator
  • Audio/Visual Equipment Coordinator
  • Film Librarian Assistant
  • Coin-box Collector
  • Clerk in the Treasury Department
  • Repair Clerk Assistant
  • Clerk in the Rates and Regulations Department
  • Service Order Writer (Government & Education Business Office)
  • Computer Programmer

While working at the phone company and raising a family, I also attended night-school and earned my degree in computer programming.

In 1982 I married Denny Curtis, we raised 2 children together, Curt and Lee.   We have 5 grandchildren today.

  • Curt & Jill (wife) live in Waterloo Nebraska (Near Omaha) and have 3 kids, Denny III, Tyler (TJ) and Pamela
  • Lee & Angell (husband) live in Dunedin Florida and have 2 kids, Dennelle (DJ) and Maya.

My parents live in Port Charlotte.  I have 1 sister that lives in Punta Gorda and 1 sister that lives in Fort Smith Arkansas

After I came to South Gulf Cove...

My husband I  built our home on Spring Circle in 1997.  We moved into our finished home March 15, 1998.  We had a great experience with our home builder, Fero Construction and recommend him to anyone.

Denny and I continued to work once we arrived in South Gulf Cove working as consultants in Tampa.  In 1999 we joined Franklin Templeton, Inc. in St. Petersburg FL as full-time employees in the Information Technology Department.

We have been very active in the community, volunteering our time to the SGCHOA, SGCYC and the CCT.  We also volunteer time to other organizations outside South Gulf Cove.

We donate the time and expense to bring to you the South Gulf Cove Community Website, www.SouthGulfCove.org .
