The Learning Garden was designed and created by volunteers and is funded by donations and grants.

Charlotte County made 1.7 acres available for the garden.

The Learning Garden is a project of
The Conservancy and Community Trust of South Gulf Cove

The Learning Garden is located in Southwest Florida just outside Port Charlotte  in the community of South Gulf Cove at 13577 Blake Drive, Port Charlotte, FL 33981.

Traveling from CR 776 turn south onto Gasparilla Road (CR 771) and travel approximately 2 miles to the Ingraham Blvd. entrance to South Gulf Cove subdivision. Turn left onto Ingraham Blvd. and travel about 1/4 mile to Santa Cruz Drive just before the first bridge. Turn right onto Santa Cruz Drive and run straight into The Learning Garden

Visitors to The Learning Garden are able to take self-guided tours demonstrating the best plants to use and the best methods for fertilization, irrigation and pest control in Southwest Florida.  It demonstrates best landscaping and home maintenance practices for those living on waterfront property.
